COVID-19 Clinical Study Plan Kenya- Update /1

Immunify.Life is pleased to provide an update on planning discussions for the COVID-19 Clinical Study in Kenya.

In addition to working with the prestigious research focussed university MMUST Immunify.Life is engaging with additional public health experts to build a comprehensive clinical and technology system pilot.

Active consideration is now being given to undertaking a pilot study in a non-communicable disease area and in a primary healthcare setting with a particular focus on rural and remote regions.

Such a setting would serve as a suitable environment to pilot the Immunify system.

Kenya has a devolved healthcare system so working in a single district or province is possible without national central government approval needing to be obtained.

Incentivisation of healthcare workers is an important design consideration and should be part of any pilot study moving forward.

Securing accurate patient records linked to a unique patient identifier is seen as an important objective to add value to the overall health system and should be a design consideration in the potential pilot study.

The consideration of undertaking a pilot in a non-communicable disease area is in addition to Immunify’s plans to conduct a COVID-19 pilot. However, operating in rural and remote regions, incentivisation of healthcare workers and the incorporation of unique patient identification are all design features which can be added to both pilot studies.
