Immunify.Life’s Guy Newing Speaks at IO ScotFest RealFi Summit
As the Cardano ecosystem enters the age of Voltaire, IOScotFest organized a two-day event to showcase what Cardano has accomplished so far and what to expect in the future. The IOScotFest took place in Edinburgh and delivered over 20 keynotes, presentations, and updates from projects in the Cardano ecosystem.
The Founder of Immunify.Life Guy Newing sat down for a discussion at the RealFi summit. He was part of the RealFi panel, discussing the potential of RealFi, the future of blockchain, and how Cardano projects like Immunify.Life can help drive real-world use cases for blockchain technology.

In his introductory remarks, Guy Newing gave a brief breakdown of Immunify.Life and what the project aims to accomplish.
Speaking on the matter, Guy stated:
“Immunify.Life is a healthcare blockchain-focused company with the goal of using blockchain technology to address some of the world’s biggest healthcare issues, including HIV, Malaria, Tuberculosis, and the Opioid crisis.”
This year alone, Immuify.Life has already made many strides in these areas. We started an HIV clinical platform in Kenya and an HIV treatment study program to address medical regimen adherence and improve treatment outcomes. We also created and launched a COVID app in Zambia to promote treatment incentivization, collection, and storage of medical data.
RealFi means making a real-world impact.
Guy Newing responded to questions about RealFi, what it means and how it could shape the future of Cardano adoption. According to him:
“RealFi projects should be real-world projects, not just conceptual ideas. They should have real-world impact and make a difference in people’s lives.”

Considering the FTX debacle, the anchor wondered how Cardano projects intend to shield themselves from loss, promote sustainability and minimize failure. Newing believes that as long as Immunify.Life adheres to its fundamentals of providing real-world value and delivering on-the-ground projects; it will remain sustainable.

According to Guy Newing, Immunify.Life’s future roadmap goals are accomplishable. We are starting small with in-house projects like the HIV clinic. Once we get proof of concept, we will begin partnering with NGOs and governments to expand the footprint of these projects across Africa.
Regulation should be about balance.
In his response to one of the questions regarding the growing concerns surrounding the regulation of crypto, Guy Newing, stated:
“You have got to strike a balance between decentralization and empowering individuals to take control of their data versus what we deem regulating what is sensitive data.”
Many experts are now calling for global crypto regulation since the collapse of projects like Terra LUNA and FTX. While these calls for regulation have merit, the regulatory bodies should ensure that the new laws put in place do not stifle industry growth by hindering development or eliminating the concept of decentralization which forms the ethos of the crypto industry.
Immunify.Life isn’t shaken by market turbulence.
Despite the skepticism surrounding the sudden devaluation of the crypto market, Guy Newing remains confident about Immunify.Life success as we look forward to the upcoming public sale event.
According to him:
“With the global adoption of blockchain technology having a significant impact on every sector of business and industry, there is a need to ensure that crypto remains decentralized, open source, with an adherence to strict partnerships between governments, NGOs and stakeholders.”
He adds that following the successful release of the public sale phase, the team at Immunify.Life would continue to work hard to deliver and expand on the HIV projects in Africa.
Cardano & the crypto space have a bright future.
Giving his thoughts on the presentation by Charles Hoskinson, Guy Newing offered an optimistic view about Cardano’s future, citing the coming of side chains and how they can improve business models and the overall functionality of the blockchain.
As for the crypto space, Newing mentioned he was looking forward to the rise of interoperable solutions considering that healthcare is a global issue and cross-chain functionalities would enable healthcare-powered blockchain services like Immunify.Life to become more accessible.
